2020 Audi R8 Gets a Refreshed Look and New 200-MPH Top Speed

By Justin Cupler | September 6th, 2019

The Audi R8 continues to lead the pack as one of the most affordable supercars in the U.S., but affordability doesn’t always require sacrifice. The 2020 Audi R8 looks to build upon this with its updated look and 200+ mph top speed.

Visually, the 2020 Audi R8 gains a new honeycomb grille in the front bumper with an R8 badge, an updated front spoiler, and new lateral air intakes. The rear bumper also gains a honeycomb grille, oval exhaust outlets, a new rear diffuser. Distinguishing the V10 model is high-gloss-black lower trim, and the V10 Performance model, formerly known as the V10 Plus, gains exclusive titanium-color lower trim or optional carbon fiber.

The V10 model also gets new standard 19-inch five-double-spoke forged wheels in an anthracite bi-color finish and optional 20-inch 10-spoke-Y wheels in high-gloss anthracite. The V10 Performance model gains standard 20-inch five-double-spoke-dynamic milled-cut wheels in a titanium finish.

Inside, the 2020 Audi R8 gains new standard features, including the Audi Virtual Cockpit, Sport mode, MMI Navigation Plus, LED interior lighting, and 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.

Under its hood, the base Audi R8 V10 sees its 5.2-liter V-10 engine boosted to 562 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque – increases of 22 horsepower and 8 pound-feet. The R8 V10 Performance retains the previous V10 Plus’ 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. With the R8 V10’s power boost, both R8 models break the 200-mph barrier.

The 2020 Audi R8’s prices range from $169,900 to $208,100. Audi hasn’t announced when the 2020 R8 will arrive here at Audi of Rochester serving the Rochester, Pittsford, and Fairport areas. Check our online inventory page regularly to know the moment the 2020 Audi R8 arrives in the Rochester area.
